Privacy
I'm Paweł Krystkiewicz and I run this site. It has no ads, no cookies and no tracking across other sites. This page lists everything it does measure and where that data goes.
Umami
Umami counts page views and a few clicks: downloading the CV, opening the email link, and following links to GitHub, LinkedIn, Chunks UI and the sites listed in my CV. With each one it records the page, the referrer, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and an approximate location. It doesn't use cookies.
Umami runs on a server I rent from Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, and the data stays there until I delete it.
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights
Vercel hosts the site. Web Analytics counts page views without cookies: it tells visitors apart by a hash of the request and discards it after 24 hours. Speed Insights measures how fast pages load, together with the page, browser, device type, operating system, connection speed and country. Neither is tied to you or your IP address. Vercel is a US company; its privacy policy covers the rest, including transfers out of the EU.
Page view counter
The eye icon in the corner shows how many times a page has been viewed. To count each visitor once per page per day, the server combines your IP address with a secret and today's date, and stores only the resulting code. The code can't be turned back into your address and expires after 24 hours. The counts themselves are just numbers and stay. They live in Upstash Redis in Frankfurt, Germany, run by Upstash, a US company.
Server logs
Like any web host, Vercel sees your IP address when your browser asks for a page, and may keep it briefly in its logs to run and protect the service.
Stored in your browser
If you open the theme drawer or change the theme, your choices are saved in your browser's local storage so they survive a reload. They never leave your device.
Why
I use this to see which pages people read, which links they follow and whether the site loads fast. Under the GDPR that's legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)). None of it is used for ads or sold.
Your rights
You can ask what data about you exists, ask me to delete it, or object to how it's used. Apart from Vercel's short-lived logs, nothing here identifies you, so there's usually nothing to find, but write to me anyway on LinkedIn or at the email address in my CV. You can also complain to the Polish data protection authority, the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
